| South Normanton has
a number of parks and recreation grounds. The 'Rec' (as it's
affectionately known!) on Market Street has an all weather
sports court with floodlighting and a children's playground.
The 'Rec' is used for football, cricket and other sports
training, and is the centre for the holiday sports initiatives
implemented by the Parish Council and run by local youth
workers and volunteers in school holidays. |

South Street 'Rec'
has two basketball courts, changing room facilities for sports
activities (and it is a distinct possibility that it will also
have a BMX bike track not too far in the distant future). A
popular site for walking the dog and walking off the Sunday
dinner! Broadmeadows also has parkland, incorporating a
football pitch and a cricket ground. Plans for a children's
playground next to the cricket pitch are well in hand. |

and a few more clues as to when the photographs were taken. Go
on, have a guess and email us, we'd like to hear what your
answers are (mainly to see if anyone else could be as far out as
the webmaster with their guestimate!) |
